Make the upper Midwest the upper crust again!
We have come a long way from being a little weekend pie shop in a tiny Wisconsin village along the banks of the Mississippi River. Today, Stockholm Pie and General Store has become an award-winning destination sought out by pie lovers of all ages. And now, for an unprecedented third consecutive year, we have been nominated for the USA TODAY 10 Best Readers' Choice Award for Best Pie Shop in America.
Why do our customers travel so far for our pies? Maybe they just love simple, delicious things that make life better. A Stockholm Pie is more than a piece of pie. It is unconditional love in a tin.
"What makes a Stockholm Pie different has a lot to do with what we don't do."
It starts with a crust that is crafted by hand, not machine. A simple but labor-intensive Midwestern recipe that goes back generations, encompassing memories, comfort, and love. Every one of our pies is wrapped in that same famous crust.
Then we get creative, using only the freshest ingredients for handcrafted favorites and an assortment of specialty pies, cookies, and tartlets. Real fruit, picked at the peak of ripeness. Dough handmade from scratch. One pie at a time, just like your grandmother made it. What you end up with is a pie full of love, memories, and the extra effort to make it into something special.
That is a Stockholm Pie. And pie lovers across the country are being asked to vote for us as the best in America.
Voting for the USA TODAY 10 Best Readers' Choice Award is open daily from May 11 through June 8. The award recognizes excellence in travel, food, and hospitality across the United States, with nominees selected by a panel of experts and winners determined entirely by public vote. Stockholm Pie won the national title in both 2024 and 2025, and a third consecutive win would be a first in the history of the award.
And if Stockholm Pie wins? Owner Alan Nugent has agreed to take a pie to the face.
